i have a lovely bright pink rose however this morning i noticed it was covered in green aphids how can i get rid of them?

The easiest way is to knock them off with a strong spray from the hose pipe. You could also run your fingers up the shoots and "peel" the aphids off and squash them. These two options have the least impact to the environment and other, possibly beneficial, insects.
Otherwise, you could use a soapy water spray. 1 tsp of liquid dish soap dissolved in 1 litre of water. Add a few drops of vegetable oil and mix. Spray directly onto the aphids to kill them. Caution: Ladybirds and lacewings....predators of aphids....will also be killed with the soapy water.
