I've had delivered a geranium,colour- Blue rose. The buds are only just starting to burst, but they look like deep pink instead of blue.Question is will they turn blue when they're fully open?

Yes it is a Pelargonium, called blue rosebud, ivy leafed trailing one.Could you find the information about the colour that shows (deep pink) just as the bud is starting to burst.Does it turn to blue once it's fully opened?I'm wondering if I've been sent the wrong one.
Thank you,

There was only one entry for it, and it did not mention looking pink initially. However, having seen the picture posted by the supplier of what the flowers are supposed to look like , I'd be very surprised if they genuinely are that colour - I suspect they'll turn out to be lilac or mauve pink.

Thanks for your help,no doubt if they're not actually blue I will get in touch with the suppliers. They did say a real blue is still very rare tho.I can let you know if they are really blue,& post a pic for you.

Thanks, I'd like to see what colour they turn out, even if they're not truly blue. I don't see how they can be truly blue, its the same with roses - the gene for blue is not present in either group of plants, so they keep trying to fiddle with the DNA to get blue versions. The rose Blue Moon, when it first came out, was shown in the sales pics to be the colour of this Pelargonium - of course, they're not, they're actually a sort of dirty, faded lavender colour.

I'm unable to find much info on geranium blue rose. There is a pelargonium blue (rosebud), which is said to be blue and appears to be an ivy leafed trailing one. Do you mean a pelargonium or a true Geranium?
