They are rhizomes so yes they can be divided but wait until the autumn when they are dormant.

I would rather buy a new trillium plant when our local garden centre has them in bud.

As last yr we went to a woodland garden with our garden club and I bought trillium seeds which are sown .

But then got told it may take years for them to germinate:(
