I assume you mean Rhododendrons. These are usually better as layers. Bend a low growing shoot down and peg it into a pot of compost or the surrounding soil. After 18 months it should be rooted and you can cut it from the main plant and pot it on. Grow on in a pot until it's big enough to fend for itself.
