Does Vic need to have fed these to build up next year's bulbs before cutting the foliage back? (I'm asking for me, really)

They do not need feeding every year, Gattins, but it never hurts. We never feed ours in the garden, far too many, and I see a very slow deterioration in flower quality as the years go by.

Thank you, Bulba and Bamboo, and Vic for asking the question, too.

Yes, me too, Snoopdog. I don't believe in cutting the leaves off. Let them die back naturally.

Provided its been six weeks since the last flower withered, then yes, you can cut them now.
