I have an old jasmine that has grown leggy (not pruned). I understand this should not be cut back until after flowerng in late summer. Can I grow a clematis up through it in the meantime and what type would you advise? South facing wall.

I wouldn't recommend it - the clematis will still be going when you need to cut back the Jasmine, and extracting the right stems and leaves from inbetween the clematis won't be easy.
