I have just purchased a Phoenix Canariensis and intend to keep it in a large pot outside, can anyone tell what soil type to pot it in

Hi Chris007, Iwould use john innes no2 or 3 with some added grit, about a 4-1 mix, don,t use too big a pot, they like to be a bit potbound, and if you keep it in a pot I would put it somewhere frost free for the winter, as these are only hardy down to about minus 5c, Derek
