if and when do i prune a honeysuckle

Well if you prune now you will lose the flowers but otherwise can be done when you like it will bounce back regardless

I do mine after they have flowered or when they get tangled up in my hair when walking past them.

While honey suckle grows, it is usually busy trying to climb and hang on, when the loose bits feel like they have reached the top/sides for instance then they will flower.
