ID a tree please

Glasgow, United Kingdom

I posted a question about this yesterday. When I went out to take a picture today I noticed it is larger than I thought, so maybe 30 feet tall and 25 feet wide. It has taken around 25 years to get to this point. There are loads of tiny white/cream flowers on it just now which cover the floor like snow. It goes bald in the winter. I have posted lots of other photos of it on my blog.

are the flowers in a long 'spike' if yes i suspect it is something like a bird cherry or Agean species.

Well I googled bird cherry but the difference is the tree doesn't produce any berries. However I have been googling all afternoon and I think I might have the answer I think it is an "elaegnus umbellata"?
