We have three Chinese split leaf maple trees on our property. For two years now, a sapling has been growing into a boxwood shrub and it is about 2.5 feet high and looks healthy. I'd love to dig it up and replant it, but I don't know how or when to do this. Can you help?

If they are growing very closely together it may not be possible to untangle them and you could do more harm than good to both. If the boxwood is Buxus then I'd suggest taking cuttings of it and then completely cutting out the boxwood bush once you have young plants. This may take a year or so but is better than losing both plants if the division failed.
