Hy i planted a plum tree 6 years ago, when i knew nothing about how to do it. It flower first two years and few plums. last few years i been adding soil in that plat and it covered it's crown completly. Since there is only about 3 flower on but bear no fruit. Recently i read that Crown should be always above the ground. I remove soil around it and find that 3 routs from crown about half thickes of a pancil size. I want to save this tree, but how. Please any advise.

Hy, It Been buried for 3 years. Roots are coming from graft itself and just under crown.

Provided the roots are coming from below the graft point, I think your only choice is to replace the soil so that part is again covered.

Difficult one - you describe the growths as roots, and if you remove them there might be a problem. How long was the tree buried too deep? Are these roots coming from above the graft, or below?
