I don't think so! We've seen a couple of weird pics recently!

The first time I saw this happening I was truly amazed! It happens with Monarda sometimes...a new stem and flower head right out of the existing flower..and I've seen it on primulas as well..fascinating isn't it. There is a name for it, and it isn't anything to worry about If I remember rightly, but it is weird! Enjoy!

Weird - be interesting to see if the other little flowers develop and open properly. Karensusan is right - nowt to worry about, its called proliferation if you're interested - cause is usually some sort of physical injury (frost or whatever) sometimes a virus. Often only one flower is affected.
