How 'edible' are the fruits of the Myroban cherry?

Maine et Loire, France

Our seed grown Prunus Cerasifera tree has produced a whole lot of deep red fruits for the first time this year. It has deep purple leaves.
When are the fruit likely to ripen and how should they be treated? Can they be eaten as fresh fruit or do they need to be cooked or stewed?
