patio rose- what kind of pot?

I have just bought a lovely patio rose which came in a small (9cm) pot. I was thinking of putting it in a trough with some petunias, would this work or is a trough too small? There are no care instructions with it. Otherwise would an individual pot be better?

I agree with, Spritz. You should be able to put it in a trough.
I have two patio roses, one is in a large pot, 10 inch internal dia' and the other is in, believe it or not, a 6 inch pot (only 'cause I thought it was dead and didn't pot it on) but both are growing and budding beautifully.

As they are so small, I can't see why you shouldn't give it some company as long as the company's roots don't take the nutrients from the rose!
