Phormium

I have a rather large phormium, how do you divide and when. Are they easy plants to divide.

Best time was actually March/April, but you can do it now provided you keep the split plants watered. It means you have to dig it up, cut it in half or whatever size you want, then replant. I always use the breadknife!
