Last year I was plagued with earwigs - this year is worse. In the greenhouse, under the grow bags and in the vegetable patch they have devastated the runner beans and lettuce plants, I am extremely frustrated. Have tried rolled up newspaper and sunflower oil in tubes, but despite this they are thriving. Please can you help?

You need to find the nests. they like dark areas, hence your problem. They are difficult to eradicate and i havnt been able to find anything that will kill them, except for boiling water as above. cold water doesnt work as they can swim,so, go and put the kettle on!!!

I hate to say it, but I use boiling water on them.
