views on cypress trees (cupressus pyramidaus)

United Kingdom

I am considering planting a row of 12 cypress trees approx 6-7ft tall but have heard that they are quite susceptible to canker & aphid, also green & black fly & they can also turn black, I would appreciate any feed back good or bad as they are quite expensive & I dont want to plant them if i'm likely to loose them, they will be planted in a sw direction in clay soil with some wind protection. Also can they successfully be planted into a pot for good.

I wonder if they are hardy enough for the UK? Also, they can bend or 'split' making them look unsightly. I'd check with a GOOD nursery near where you live for advice as they are expensive.
