When is the right time to trim or prune a copper beech hedge.

we have an ordinary beech hedge and it got its first trim in late april, it will get another in august [unless it goes mad] and then in november any wayward branches are also removed. check for nesting birds though.

Usual advice is now, and again anytime between May and August when it looks out of shape or untidy, assuming it's not its first year.
