where is the ideal place to plant cosmos? will it grow near a hedge?

i have some cosmos but are unsure where to plant them i have lots of space in my garden but i am wantin plants to grow infront of my hegde would these be ideal or better somewhere else?

Cosmos like sun, and nothing should be planted within 1/2 feet of a hedge, it's usually far too dry.
