I live in Northern Ontario (zone 2) I have an apple tree and i have noticed the other day out of the 6 apples i had 3 have fallen off. Why would this happen?
I have inspected them and there is nothing wrong. I gave them a good dowsing of water again yesterday as we are having a bit of a dry summer. That's the only thing i could see wrong.

we used to have apple trees . a cooker and an eating type as my mum has now when i` was a kid . we used to get a lot of apples as in the hundreds but id say we lost a good third of them to different reasens thow our trees were left to get as big as they wanted wich wont help with wind compared to apple orchards wear they keep them short for ease of picking and they are on thick short branches . you get natural loss especialy if as im guessing its a very young tree . this means probably that because the branches are young they just drop of and everything bamboo sais . also theres more saftey in numbers too . apples arnt realy cheap are they and im guessing wasps, insects , damage bla bla become overheads in a busyness sinario .that reminds me i remeber on me mum and dads boat going past willow trees being grown especialy for making cricket bats . dead strate with know branches at all but not very tall . i doubt you get many bats out of one realy . most regimently looking trees ive ever seen with lovley grass growing round there roots and all about the same size . i also remember working with chickens and the farmer with a field right next to wear i was paid bye walkers or some top crisp company to grow spuds and he got a fortune per ton . this is because they had a perfect size for a crisp sive excuse my spelling conveyer belt machine on the thing that dug them up and any bihgger and smaller than the holes in this thing got dumped back on the field to rot .i think the farmer got easily 5 times the price per tonne . ofcourse all of us made great use of the left over big and some smaller spuds including the farmer because it saves him so much work and he cant eat them all or sell them . still got a few growing threw next years corn mind but not many lol . terrible waste .i made a big elephant for this woman with a big private garden with the most beautiful apples . one day i looked over and there chucking hundreds bye wheel barrow to rot in the stream . i couldnt believe it .i hasten to add i had many a chip butty and home made apple pie as did many others on the potatoes anyway . i couldnt carry them so they poared loads in . discraseful .

Thanks, Nosey, makes a change, a new avatar, don't it, lol.
Looks a bit like a Staf, your dog, but not sure what variety it is - I know staffies are daft as brushes and friendly, usually, despite their looks. Also Rottweilers - my friend had one of those and she used to try to sit on your lap...

shes to tall for a staff . your half right bamboo as her mum was a staffy but her dad is an american bulldog .yes i like to change . its as good as a rest lol . dogs are partly what you make them to but shes always been friendly . i have to be careful because she looks like a pitbull and they got a bad name only because of bad people who do terrible things . dogs can always be made friendly if you do a bit of work with them . an easy one is letting them mingle somewear with lots of dogs for ascosiation etc .

Have you inspected the ones which fell off? Are they infested or diseased? Its a bit late for June drop if they only fell off recently, otherwise they could have been knocked off by a creature, high winds or physical force of some kind.
