Answers
I put some in water in the bath once when we went away for a week. When we came back the bathroom was like a jungle, but it was all green growth - no extra flowers! That's what comes of having no drainage.

Yes - but they should always be growing somewhere with drainage, so if in a pot, there should be holes to let out excess water. They need regular, decent supplies of water particularly after the fruit has started forming.
