There is a lot of nonsense talked about Blight. We have just got it starting on the haulms. so we are in the process of removing, to begin with, every leaf as it shows signs. Next we will remove the haulms themselves. The potatoes will not be affected by the fungus as the tops are removed before the infection reaches the soil. The crop may be smaller, but we allow for that in the number we plant. In a normal year (which this ain't) we get as many as we need for the whole year.
The important thing is to remove the tops before the Blight reaches the bottom of the stems and starts going down to the tubers. There is nothing wrong with the tubers at all.

Agree Owdb. but a lot of folk seem to not realise they have got blight until it is too late.

Very true.

I suspect that, like us, you pay close attention to your vegetable crops some folk don't :-(

Too right. We eat what we grow and grow what we eat. We need to be vigilant or starve.

Yup and this year it is not looking good... Though we wont actually starve!

I think you mean the potato sarpo shona which claims to be blight resistant... haven't grown it ourselves.
