How can I propagate a montana clematis

My neice has a beautiful Montana clematis that has just flowered, can I propagate from this plant and how do I do it.

Easiest way is probably to "peg" down into soil with a few of the shoots - these may develop roots of their own, and you can then cut them off and pot them up. (It's called layering)

Yup what Bamboo said. You can also collect and sow the seed but this will take a bit longer to produce a thriving plant.
