By Neilw

I have an area that is in full shade, heavy clay soil and constantly wet. I would like advice on what to plant in this area.

I've found the name of a book for you, called "Gardening on Clay" by Peter Jones. ISBN 978-1-84797-081-7. Try your library first (ordering is only 55pence). Hopefully it may recommend plants for shade. Good luck!
ps welcome to goy!

« We live very near the sea on the South Coast, so frost is not a problem.
There are quite a number of plants you could grow, but unfortunately, you would need to improve the soil conditions. The wetness is not necessarily a problem, altho' drainage could be improved by adding grit, but the plants will need some nutrients.
Try your local library for books on growing plants in shade, that is how I bought my plants. Hth?
