Hello, my name is Norrms and i am part of an Alzheimers Society group called "Talking Point" which is an online support group for Dementia sufferers and their carers. We are all scratching our heads about the name of a plant thats been posted on the site, lease please can you tell us its name? people say they are losing sleep over this, very best wishes, Norman

Sorry, I don't know the name of this plant either, but welcome to GOY. My Dad suffers from Alzheimers, but is not now able to access his computer. Good luck with finding the answer to your question and to your group.

Welcome to GoY Norrms. I'm inclined to agree with Bamboo; it does look like fillipendula, but the purple shade has me puzzled. All the best

There are coloured filipendulas, but the leaves on this one look too 'feathery' to me.

in Britain it,s purple tansy, in usa I think its fiddleneck or lacy phacelia.

Reminds me of Filipendula vulgaris, or dropwort, though I've never seen that lilac colour flower, they're usually more pink. Might be a new variety I suppose. perhaps someone else will know for sure what it is.
