Thats it Bb. It has lovely coral red seeds held within the open pods over the winter. A friend in Wiltshire gave me a head with seeds on it several years ago and I planted them and had forgotten about them. I can look forward to seeing the seeds now and hopefully a few more stems next year. Its also named for those seeds 'The Coral Iris'. I must look around and see if there are any others. I was surprised to see these flowers because the leaf is very similar to the Sisyrinchium striatum which I also have in the garden. I must see if the leaves of this one smell beefy which gives it its name of stinking Iris. I have a similar yellow flowered, striped leaved Iris which I will add for id as it was given to me as a gift from a friend and she had no idea what it was except that it was an Iris.

The striped leaf one is probably Iris foetidissima Variegata.
