Friend of mine planted carnation kahor in location with afternoon sun and waters only once per week and says her plant does not bloom. Should she use Miracle grow or do nything else? She didn't tell me anything about her soil or if she mulches.

I have not heard of carnation kahor, but Dianthus (Carnations) are poor soil plants and thrive on neglect. I dont ever feed mine and grow them in poor soil, so I wonder if the soil is too rich which would stop them flowering?
