could you please tell me whether the cuttings taken from verbena bonariensis are taken at the node or are internodal.

They set seed with gay abandon too in my garden.

Indeed. I took over 30 seedlings off one plant earlier this year.

I have just pulled up over 500 of the dratted things where one managed to seed into a gravel path.

They're selling them at £6.99 each for a 2 litre pot on the Internet!
I wish i had access to your path!

They love germinating between stones and near edges. I like them as a plant to dot about the garden. They remind me of cheerleaders shaking their 'bunches'. Make me smile......the price of them in GC's is extraordinary considering how easily they seed themselves and how fast they get quite large.

Many thanks everyone for your helpful replies, I shall begin taking some cuttings today. I have recently retired and am quite new to gardening and am happy to have found this programme on my computer. I am also VERY new to a computer so have my work cut out on both fronts! It can only be onwards and upwards from hereon.

I console myself frequently with just how much I am throwing away when I weed out Verbena and Campanula and Morinas and Geraniums and other things which self seed around.
