I have to clear out an old Yucca which I felt sorry for and planted. Now its getting too big ! Apart from a sharp spade on a gradual basis, does anyone know of an easy way to do remove it?

Thanks Sarra, I have started using a sharp spade and a pruning saw, a little as a time. Am chopping the spines off first, as they get in the way !

Afraid not. But if it is big then the roots will be very deep. And if you want to move it then it is quite an operation over two years because just digging it out and replanting will almost certainly kill it.
