My Lillys the leaves have gone brown and they have not done well this year. Earler in the year I noticed a red beetle on them is this the reson and why?

Most of my Lilies had a Lily leaf disease caused by all the rain we have had - they have looked really awful.

Possibly - the red beetles sound like red lily beetles and it is their grubs that cause root damage and kill the plant. The beetles themselves cut grooves into lily leaves.
