I have a Rhus Sumach aprox 3mtr in hight at the bottom of one trunk there is a gash about 18" long x1"deep and very sticky arround the edges,when I cut this off do I have to treat this with something, help much appreciated. Poppy.

i dont think you have to but i do believe there is stuff at the garden centre that you can treat it with . id cut it of very early next spring just before the sap starts rising .im know expert thow but someone needs to help you .
