Name of plant please

In the area that I live, several people have these very beautiful plants that grow on and over their low front walls. They are purple, lilac or blue in colour and very small. Can anyone tell me what they are called please?

I was thinking they might be wisteria. Lucky you if they are as they take many years to flower in more northern areas. If they are Wisteria, make sure they are well-supported as they have been known to pull down porches!

I can only guess without a picture. Could they be Aubrieta? Another possibility is Campanula, there are several types that grow over walls. Could you ask someone if you could take a photo?
