If its a shrub then it looks like Spirea.

Looked on the web and you are bang on Nicky :>) How would you take cutting and how would you get them to grow on somewhere else?

softwood cuttings in spring or semi ripe cuttings in late summer.
take pieces 5-8 cm long, rooting take 2-4 weeks. Place around the edge of a pot and keep moist but not to wet. RHS website will have more info

If it was Goldflame the foliage would be golden. There is a pic. of Goldflame in my Photofile. It's quite possible yours is 'Anthony Waterer'.
A lovely, amenable shrub nevertheless.
