Vinegar and news paper!

Thank you all for the positive comments, I’m enjoying the site, little disappointed that cant seem to access other peoples photos but I’m sure i will sort that one out.

Had a great day yesterday. Spent 2 hours with the fish in the pond. The ghost carp only frightened me the once trying to get inside the wellies! Most of the time trying to clean the greenhouse windows. I gave up, went into the post office for some comfort food( chocolate chip bics.) Where I made them laugh about my inability to clean windows. I was told to try vinagar and brown paper. We’ve all heard about it. Had to buy the sun paper to try it. But 10 minutes later, I’ve got clean windows. Now I’m obsessed. Been in this house 30 years and never had clean windows before!

I built me green house myself. Even learnt to bricklay to do it!
P.s they call me Wendy at work- Bob the builder and his side kick Wendy!
anyway.
Yesterday morning I’m determined to cure all leaks. One of the reasons I’m in the pond sealing the pond side, stop the rain coming is. Next I’m on the roof, black flushing tape and spray glue, sealing the join where its leeks! No problem. Till I have to get down. The ladder moved as I got up and no way was I getting back down. Now I can see Max the ‘teenage’ son hovering his room, but he couldnt hear me shouting! I had to phone him to come and hold the ladder. Thank lord for mobile phones………….
And to add insult to injury when I looked I’d sealed the joint which didn’t leek, with the last of the tape of course!

But on the other hand I did mow the grass for the first time in a year, and planted the veggie seedling, in their slightly crooked lines, so all in all it looks great.

Well done on building your greenhouse. I could never do that. You know how to keep the glass nice and clean now lol. I use newspaper and windowleen to clean my windows lol.

Building the greenhouse took six months, lots of questions from the handyman at work and lesions from the x on bricklaying.
It was great fun. I found the double glazing units at a reclaiming company.Plus learnt how much you can do it your willing to have a go.
Biggest triel wa putting thee guttering together. Made for strong mans hands.

Great blog. Love the greenhouse.

Laughed at u stuck up on the roof. Sorry! he he!

I have a story like that.

I was tending one of my clients gardens, was up on one of her balcony tending the pots. When finished turned around to open the door and opps!!!!!!! The door was locked. It happened twice. First time client was home I just had to shout loudly. Second time clients was out. OPPPPPP! What to do now, with no way down.
I knew all the neighbours so had to wait until I saw one of the boys from across the street playing in his back garden and called out to him to come and help me. I knew there was a doggy door on the back door if the door was locked. So Alex came over and I asked him to try the back door if not crawl in the doggy door and come and unlock the door. It never happened again.

Of the things that happen to gardeners! LOL.
