Onion Sets F1 Hyred Heat Treated (200g Pack)

The first F1 hybrid red onion from sets and an excellent variety! Hyred is one of the latest to mature, lifting in early September. The long growing season results in a heavy crop of crimson bulbs. Hybrid vigour gives a consistent semi globe shape and the flavour of the pink tinged flesh is spicy and robust. Hyred stores well into the spring if kept cool and dry. Maturing time approximately 18-20 weeks from planting. Onion sets are small immature onion 'bulbs' in an arrested stage of growth. When planted in spring they begin to grow again and will become full size onions by late summer. They are rarely attacked by pests or disease and thrive in ordinary conditions.
