This recently introduced spurge has been created by crossing E. mellifera with E. stygiana. It has an attractive, rounded architectural form, with stiff stems that are clothed in narrow, dark green leaves, which have a distinctive, creamy-white central midrib. From early to mid summer these stems are topped with clusters of honey-scented, yellowy-brown flowers followed by small seed pods. Garden care: In autumn cut back the faded flower stems, avoiding new ones. When working with spurges always wear gloves since the milky sap is poisonous and a potential skin irritant. Remove unwanted seedlings each spring as part of routine border maintenance.
