HRH Prince of Wales created Duchy Originals in 1990 due to his belief in the clear advantages of organic farming; the production of natural and healthy foods and sound agriculture which helps to regenerate and protect the countryside and wildlife.
Climbing Bean Helda is an early variety which produces good yields throughout the summer. The long flat pods slice nice and easily - toss them in butter and serve as a tasty side dish. Pods can grow up to 25cm in length 2cm in width and can be grown in the greenhouse for earlier crops.

Sow May to July outdoors directly into rich well prepared soil in a sunny spot. Provide support for climbing either a row or wigwam of 180cm canes or netting. Sow 2 seeds against each cane 4cm deep. When growing keep watered particularly once flowering starts adding mulch during hotter dry periods. Harvest July to October - pick pods regularly whilst young for heaviest yields and to extend the season.
