Phytoseiulus For Killing Spider Mite
Garden Centre > Garden & Growing Essentials > Pest Control
Red spider mites are sap sucking insects that can reduce the vigour of plants. If the infestation is bad, so much sap can be taken that the leaves can dry up and fall off. Our Spider Mite Killer is a predatory mite called Phytoseiulus permilis. It only eats red spider mites and eats hundreds of them. It will also reproduce, laying a lot of eggs which will hatch into more predators. The predatory mite does look similar to red spider mites but is much redder and moves a lot faster. How to apply Phytoseiulus: Phytoseiulus is best used in glasshouse or conservatories but can also be used for strawberries and other fruit plants from May to August outside. The predator needs a temperature between 15-20°C to be active and reproduce in. The are sent in a bottle, which needs to be shaken gently and turned before use. The contents then need to be sprinkled on to the infected leaves. One pack contains approximately 1000 insects and will treat 100sq metres.
