One of the fast-growing oaks with dark green, sharply lobed leaves which turn attractive shades of red, yellow and brown before falling in autumn. An attractive tree that is capable of adapting to most conditions, including industrial areas, though it does require lime-free soil.Garden care: Requires minimal pruning. Remove any broken, diseased or crossing branches in late autumn or winter. When planting incorporate lots of well-rotted garden compost in the planting.
