Cherry Tree Merton Glory
Garden Centre > Plants > Fruit plants & trees > Cherries
Introduced in the arly 1900s in the UK, this is an early fruiting cherry which produces large white-fleshed, heart shaped cherries that are sweet to taste. Prefers a sheltered site to give the maximum crops. Ready to pick from early July. More compact than many other cherries, making it ideal for smaller gardens. Unlike our other cherries this one is not self-fertile and needs to be grown alongside another to achieve the best crops. Grown on Colt rootstock, gives a very productive tree with good fruit size, but compact growth so it can be grown in a small space, either free-standing or trained against a wall or fence. Supplied as a bare root tree. (Part of the English Heritage fruit variety range.)
