Thanks to its torque-optimising solid drive-shaft and heavy-duty three-toothed metal blade the Mountfield MB2801J is capable of dealing with the sort of dense grass and established scrub that would likely defeat a standard curved-shaft line-trimmer. Driving it is a powerful but nevertheless lightweight 25.4cc Mountfield two-stroke engine with a power-output rating of 0.7kW - enough to enable you to complete tougher jobs with speed and efficiency. The Mountfield MB2801J Two-Stroke Brushcutter not only comes with a metal brushcutting blade; it's also supplied with a nylon-line head that's ideal for lighter duty jobs like edging and trimming areas of grass that you can't reach with your mower (Mountfield's Tap 'n' Go system makes line-feed simple). It's fitted with a compact 'loop'-type handle which means you'll have no trouble operating in confined spaces; and it employs a highly effective anti-vibration system that works to prevent the blood-vessel damage that some users can experience when regularly using power tools for long periods. A comfort-enhancing shoulder harness is included. The quality aluminium shaft on this model can be split so as to facilitate the use of either of Mountfield's versatility-enhancing attachments (hedgetrimmer; pruner).
