Acclaimed U.S.-manufacturers Merry Tiller were at the vanguard of American tiller-production as long ago as the 1950?s so it?s no real surprise they?re capable of producing such impressive machines. This model the Super Major was introduced in 1976 with many examples from this period still very much in use thanks largely to their hardwearing chain-driven transmission; solid-steel chassis; and employment of premium-grade parts. The Merry Tiller Super Major Cultivator is fitted with a very high-performance 6hp Briggs & Stratton engine power from which is sent to the ?Slasher?-type tines via a primary belt-drive and a secondary roller chain-drive. This combination works to optimise torque-transfer thereby ensuring you?ll be able to break-though the most stubborn surfaces (like old compacted lawns) without problem. The expansive 66cm tilling-width on the Super Major makes it a fast performer when it comes to breaking-up large areas of virgin ground; but it can also be made suitable for inter-row applications with the removal of the outer rotors (this gives a working-width of just 45cm). The tilling-depth is simple to adjust using a steel depth-skid. The transport wheels on the Merry Tiller Super Major can be firmly locked into a raised position before you begin tilling.
