Undisputed masters of power cutting tools German manufacturer STIHL pride themselves on quality; from design through to build and the STIHL HS 81 RC-E Professional Petrol Hedge-Cutter is no exception. The sharp and tough double?edged blades are designed for cutting back heavy-duty hedges and deep pruning of shrubs and are specified to a professional standard ideal for using in parks and gardens. It has a 60-centimetre cutting bar a good length for maintenance and pruning and is designed specifically for large volume cutting courtesy of the wide tooth spacing and the increased tooth height. This plus the specialised gearing means thicker branches can be cut faster. The STIHL HS 81 RC-E Professional Petrol Hedge-Cutter comes with Ergo Start a genuinely innovative patented system that reduces the effort needed to pull start the trimmer by 50% and enables pulling of the cord at a third of the force usually required. The low weight at just 5.5kg and the good balance combined with the integrated oscillation reducing anti-vibration system ensure that operating the hedge trimmer is comfortable for longer periods. Working at 3000 strokes per minute the lower blade speed combined with the tooth design make for a more powerful cut and less wasted energy so the whole cutting action is more efficient. Operating efficiency usually starts with the engine and this model has powerful 22.7cc petrol engine producing 0.7kw of cutting power. The engine has a number of features making it super efficient and reliable including fully encapsulated (and therefore dirt and moisture resistant) electronic ignition for dependable starts and smooth running. The specially designed fuel cap can be removed without the use of tools and a manual fuel pump delivers fuel to the carburettor reducing the number of pulls it takes to start the machine after extended gaps in operation. This is a simple push-button operation. A swivelling multi-function handle is included to make control really easy and to facilitate cutting at varying angles. The rotation is 90? left and right ensuring the best cutting position at all times. The ergonomically shaped ?loop? handle keeps control comfortable and easy with multi-functional controls to make operation simple.
