The flexibility conferred by the four-in-one design of this very well-equipped rotary lawnmower from Stiga makes it possible to deal with overgrown paddocks; fine formal lawns; and everything in between. The following cutting-options are available: bagging; mulching; and side- or rear-discharge. Mulching is best carried out on short dry grass and will leave your lawn organically nourished by the fast-wilting particulates; while side-discharge is great for very long grass as the clippings won?t get tangled around your feet. Rear-discharge and bagging are suitable for average conditions. The Stiga Turbo Excel 50SQ-B Self-Propelled Lawnmower employs a 675-Series power-pack from globally renowned U.S. engine manufacturers Briggs & Stratton. These beefy 190cc units utilise B & S?s overhead-valve technology whereby noise; vibration; emissions; and fuel-consumption are all kept at impressively low levels. A float-feed carburettor ensures the engine will fire-up with the first pull; while an automotive-type Maxi-Clean air-filter keeps wear and tear to a minimum for an extended engine-life. Boasting a rear-wheel power-drive the Stiga Turbo Excel 50SQ-B will take slopes and rough tussocky terrain in its stride. It features a galvanised steel cutter-deck that won?t rust and which will shrug-off any accidental impact; and it?s fitted with extra-high drive-wheels for better traction and enhanced manoeuvrability (especially in long grass). This 48cm model is aimed at lawns around 50m2 and comes with a high-volume 75-litre grassbag that cuts mowing-time by reducing the number of trips to the compost-pile. Also of note is the centrally controlled six-step height-of-cut (22 ? 95mm) which lets you select your blade position in a matter of seconds; and the quick-release collapsible handlebar which facilitates storage in a space-restricted shed.
