Clover is the first plant that we learn to recognise as children so this ornamental clover deserves place in your garden for that reason alone, the fact that it also forms very attractive ground cover makes it compelling. The plant has clumps of blue-green foliage as a backdrop to silver coloured bushy buds that open into large, fat  purple-red flowers from May to August. Trifolium rubens is loved by pollinating insects so it's perfect for wildlife gardens and it's overall prettiness means that it will be a welcome addition in borders, containers and rockeries. Height: 60cm (24). Spread: 40cm (16).
