There is no greater pleasure than walking down a street at 'cherry blossom time'. Ornamental cherry trees are often used in municipal planting and they are a firm favourite with home gardeners too. Prunus glandulosa 'Alba Plenais' ornamental cherry is compact making it ideal for smaller gardens and patio pots, you can also train it as a wall shrub. The flowers of this attractive user-friendly tree are pristine white and double so have even more appeal. During autumn the leaves turn a rich orange extending the season of interest. Cherry trees make a glorious specimen and can be underplanted with bulbs to make a focal point during spring. Nectar loving bees will be pretty impressed too. Height and spread: 1.5m (5').
