This Elder has delicate pink flower clusters which arrive in early summer providing a real profusion of colour and interest. Ideal for making a statement in your borders, wildlife gardens and woodland spaces, the Sambucus nigra porphyrophylla has one last trick when summer ends as the flowers are replaced with an array of black fruits, which are loved by birds. Easy to grow this Elder does best in full sun where it will produce its best leaf colour, making this hardy deciduous shrub a versatile addition to any garden. Height: 3m (10'). Spread: 2m (6').
