Pyracantha Coccinea 'Red Column'

Pyracantha 'Red Column' is a shrub that offers year round interest and is very easy to maintain. Planted as a hedge, its dense prickly branches make it impenetrable, increasing the security of your home and garden. In autumn and winter, Pyracantha it is full of red berries that look spectacular and also provide a great food source for garden birds during the harshest months of the year. Earlier in the year, this upright, evergreen Firethorn has masses of pretty white flowers, rich in nectar, that attract bees and other pollinating insects. It is ideal for wildlife and cottage gardens. As well as planted as hedging, it can also be trained up walls, or grown as a one off specimen in a mixed shrub border. Height: 3m (10').  Spread: 2.4m (8').
