Encouraging rhododendron blooms

Feedback: It has been my experience as an experienced rhodo grower that the best way to get plants of many types including rhodos is to lightly fertilize them with 10-50-8 or similar composition liquid fertilizer made from totally water soluable salt solutions. In my area this mix is quite hard to find. Starting two years I started treating my plants lightly with a tablespoon of the mixture in one gallon of water. Further, one can give plants light doses of a product called “Super-thrive”. Be careful to follow directions as marked on label. More is not better. It contains a power plant growth stimulant that accelerates root growth. Best of luck to all,

I am not speaking for the ARS. The above are my personal recommendations.
