Reviews and comments on Pine lodge Gardens & Nursery (and Tea Room)

"A Real Garden", "A Garden with rare plants" are two notices one observes when at the traffic lights at the junction of the A391 and A390. After a 315 mile trek to St.Austell the invitation could not be resisted. What a jewel was found. This magnificent Garden and Parklands comprise over 30 Acres (about 13 Hectares) boasts a plant / tree collection of over 6000 specimens and the great plus - they are all labelled. This garden is also home to the National collection of the Genus Grevillea. The garden has a web site so take a pre visit look and you will not be able to resist including the gardens when visiting this part of Cornwall. This is a unique experience and will have something of interest every month of the year. The gardens are open all year round with the exception of 24th to 26th December inclusive. See some of my 50 photos in my photo album. The Tea Room is definitely understated - it is a genuine English even Cornish Cafe experience: Best quality and variety of food mostly locally sourced, Brilliant Service, much is home made, lovelly rustic environment with outdoor courtyard which is great when weather is favourable. Adjacent is the nursery which sells a wide variety of plants, many rare and uncommon - all of excellent quality and very reasonably priced. If you are in St. Austell I highly commend this garden to you, you will not be let down.
